Heritage Trails

STORRINGTON & SULLINGTON HERITAGE TRAILS

In 2000, as part of the Millennium celebrations, Horsham District Council was awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop the 2000 Heritage Trail. This consists of a network of plaques around the district at sites where there is something of historical interest worth seeing or being aware of. 

In 2018, the Horsham District Community Partnership Forum instigated a project to refresh and expand that network. This would be done firstly by refurbishing the existing plaques and secondly, by supporting local historical societies and other community groups to identify, research, create and promote new heritage trails that help residents and visitors better understand our shared and under-appreciated local heritage. https://horshammuseum.org/learn/heritage-trails
